James’ art practice is an exploration of how different mark making media can address both the physical real and representational unreal in equal measure. This website showcases selections of work and prints from James’ final degree show for a MA Contemporary Dialogues (Illustration) at Swansea College of Art, UWTSD in early 2023.
Texts that inspired this work include Dante’s Inferno, Albert Camus’ The Myth of Sisyphus and Robert Macfarlane’s Underland.
During 2023-24, James continued studying at Ulster University, and completed an MA in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies. He currently lives and works in Belfast, and is expanding his portfolio.
